Breaking News!

Global Warming affects the environment and all of the humans on our planet!

Here are some of the affects of climate change in our world.

Impact on the Environment:

Shrinking Glaciers:*

Melting Glaciers

As the earth's temperature rises, glaciers will aborb the sunlight and melt. Sea levels will rise, and and coastal shorelines will retreat. As a result, polar bears and sea ice dependent seals will lose their habitats. Also, local people who depend on those animals as a food source will need to find new resources or leave their homes.

Extreme Weather Patterns:

Hurricanes and Droughts

Global Warming will increase the ocean's temperature. That will result in more powerful and more frequent hurricanes/typhoons. Some places on Earth will get more humid, while others will become more arid. Serious droughts and heat waves will be experienced in some areas of the world. Africa will suffer the worst of it, while Europe is expected to receive severe droughts, as well as other places.

Other:

Coral Crisis

Impacts on Humans:

Spreading of Disease:

Mosquito

With the atmosphere warming, insects with diseases will spread north bringing sickness and plague with them.

Transport:

Cracked Road

Greater temperature change means more of a need for maintenance of roads and airplane runways and pipelines.

Economic Consequences:

Money

As more hurricanes are starting, billions of dollars are used to pay for the damage. Diseases also cost lots of money to cure and to control.

*Which also impacts humans - Studies have shown that sea ice coverage has already shrunk by about 50% from 1979 to 2005
